ANTONIO VITALI

Antonio Vitali (1909 – 2008) was a Swiss Toymaker who was most famously known for producing a range of sculptural toys, which he sold through Creative Playthings in America. 

The sailing puzzle is one of a set of puzzles that were produced under the Vitali brand, with the ‘Vitali’ stamp being barely visible beneath the puzzle pieces. From a collectors perspective, these small puzzles measuring 3¼“ x 10½“ rarely come up for sale; encased in their own miniature display case, they look like miniature paintings, and espouse the notion that vintage puzzles are indeed art.
